Paisley Sampler
This sampler was designed to be the most dense, jam packed Dropcloth Sampler yet. Inspired by Indian textiles, and in particular my favorite deck of cards. I stitched up my example with tons of bright colors, but I think the design would also look great in a more limited palette; think bandanas!
The sampler arrives preprinted on cotton quilting fabric, ready to stitch and includes basic instructions. You provide your own threads, needles, and hoop.
The pictures show one way to fill in the design, but you can choose whatever colors/threads you like.
What size is it?
Finished size is 8 x 8"
What thread should I use?
We use a combination of size 8 perle cotton and/or embroidery floss.
Where can I find more embroidery help?
I'm so glad you asked! Check out my online workshops on Creativebug.
Where can I see other examples of the finished sampler?
Instagram! Check out the hashtag #dropclothsamplers for tons of beautiful examples of all our designs, stitched by people like you. I hope you'll add yours to the mix!
How should I back my sampler?
For best results, I recommend backing this fabric with a second piece of fabric (cotton or linen) before placing your fabric in the hoop. You'll get the flattest, most even stitches this way. Check out my how-to for this step on Creativebug or IGTV (@dropcloth)
What size hoops should I use?
I like a size 6—but use whatever you hoop you have on hand.
